But it absolutely didn't start there. When I was 12 I made a silly rap song about slinging guns and getting robbed at a gas station. I made it in one night with a free version of a program I'm certain doesn't even exist anymore.
As I got older, I realized I had a real passion for it and as my music knowledge grew, it was natural to go back to making music. I was in and out of guitar lessons throughout school, but I think my main objective for making music was to relate to people and to talk about important things. Which is what led me to rap and hip-hop.
My favorite artists were always rappers growing up, and the best ones got to the heart of you, no matter where you were... what you were doing... who you were with... excellent rap cuts to the bone. And that's what I wanted to do.
I haven't stopped since, and I don't plan on it. Now I make music under the J-Thrill moniker, but also play bass and tour in an indie rock band called Me Like Bees.
It's been very fun so far. I hope to continue making J-Thrill tunes for a long time. I'm very thankful for the opportunity to already have put out 4 projects that I really believe in.
